The Art of AuctioningCataloguesEach one of our six departments publishes their own catalogue twice a year approximately three weeks prior to the auction: they are illustrated in colour and black and white throughout, written with emphasis on the historical aspect of each lot. BiddingThere are several ways to acquire a work of art at auction, although nothing compares with the excitement of being there in person. If you want to attend live, you will need to register and obtain a bidder's number. If you are unable to attend in person, you can send your bid by mail or fax (forms at front pages of catalogue) as well as by e-mail. Bidding by telephone is also possible. To use this service, please advise by letter, fax or e-mail under what number you can be reached, and state the lot on which you wish to bid; during the auction you will be phoned shortly before your lot is called. This service is available only for lots valued over 2,000.00 Euro. Please note that written or faxed bids must be received by us 24 hours before the auction, otherwise we cannot guarantee consideration. Sucessful BidIf your bid is successful, you can pay for your purchase in cash or by certified check (the buyer's premium will be added to the hammer price), and take the object with you immediately. You can also pay within two weeks of invoicing and pick up your purchase then or instruct an agent. We will gladly assist you by naming a forwarding agent. Post Sale OfferYou can check the lists of results for unsold lots a few days after the auction. Objects not listed are usually available for post-auction offer for a period of four weeks. Offers are welcome. For coordination purposes we recommend that you contact the experts. |
