
Pablo Alonso, Angela Bulloch, Thomas Florschuetz, Jonas Burgert, Martin Kippenberger, Werner Büttner, Slawomir Elsner, Günther Förg, Gert und Uwe Tobias, Johannes Wohnseifer (see detail illustrated above) and Herta Müller are some of the contemporary artists who donated works for this benefit auction.
The sale comprises a total of 48 lots with estimates ranging from 150 to 18,000 Euro. The proceeds will benefit the human rights organisation Human Rights Watch whose 300 members fight for human rights in more than 80 countries. Human Rights Watch was awarded the Nobel Prize for peace in 1997, and in 2005 the Theodor-Heuss-Prize.
The auction will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Peter Raue.
